Fisher & Saltarelli Named NAIA Scholar Athletes

Fisher and SaltarelliThis summer the NAIA announced the Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar Athletes for 2017.  College of the Ozarks had two players on the national list of 383 men's baseball student-athletes--Jesse Fisher and Wyatt Saltarelli.

Jesse Fisher graduated Cum Laude from College of the Ozarks in May 2017 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.  Fisher played four seasons for the Bobcats in the outfield, finishing with a .278 career batting average and leading the team with a .355 average this past season. 

Wyatt Saltarelli, who is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice:Law Enforcement, has spent his last three seasons on the mound.  A right-handed pitcher for the Bobcats, Saltarelli completed his junior season with a 5-5 record, striking out 29 batters.

In order to be nominated for this award, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status. 

Hearty congratulations go out to Jesse and Wyatt for their significant accomplishments in the classroom and on the field of play!
