Bobcats Weekend Recap

Bobcat BaseballOn Saturday, March 1st, the Bobcats opened  the doubleheader with a 7-2 loss, struggling at the plate. The ‘Cats were down 2-1 going into the 5th, but Graceland scored 4 runs on only 2 hits to take a 6-1 lead. Cody Pentecost went 2-3 and Trevor Bowling 2-4.  Silas Bohannan took the loss. 

Game 2 was a heartbreaker.  The Bobcats has a 2-1 lead going into the 7th inning.  A lead-off single in the 7th  followed by a sacrifice bunt, walk and throwing error resulted in Graceland scoring 2 runs for a 3-2 lead.  The Bobcats were unable to retaliate in the bottom of the inning and ended on the short end of a 3-2 score.  Bobcats’ pitcher Timmy Townsend pitched 6 strong innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 run and 4 walks, while striking out 7 batters.  Austin Reaves suffered the loss. 

The Bobcats are now 7-8 and will resume play (if the snow melts) on Thursday afternoon at 4 PM versus AIB College.
