Bobcats Sweep Waldorf, Drop One to Missouri Southern

J. D. PayneBobcat Baseball finally had some good weather, and they opened their conference season at the high school field in Forsyth this past weekend with 4 wins over Waldorf College!  The Bobcats outscored the Warriors 35-10 in 4 games to extend their winning streak to six

Game 1, a 4-3 victory, featured the Bobcats scoring 4 runs on 8 hits (one each by the number 1-8 hitters). The winning pitcher was Josh Neufeld (2H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 14 K); and the save went to Jason Meyers.

Game 2 (Win: 9-3) - J.D. Payne & Austin Schweiss both went 2-for-3 at the plate, and Tyler Marion & Cody Pentecost each drove in 2 runs to score 9 runs on 10 hits.  Schweiss hit a double and Scott Stephens a triple.  The winning pitcher was Garrett Woods (6.2 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K).

Game 3 (Win: 11-4) - Scott Stephens was 3-for-5 at the plate, and J.D. Payne & Winston Rasmussen each were 2-for-4, as the Cats scored 11 runs on 12 hits.  Payne, Pentecost and S. Stephens contributed doubles, and Stephens also yanked a home run.  The winning pitcher was Alex. Stephens (8.0 IP, 12 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K).

Game 4 (Win: 11-0) - J.D. Payne went 3-for-3, Scott Stephens 3-for-4, and Cody Hull & Austin Schweiss were 2-for-3 at the plate in the Bobcats’ 11-0 victory.  J. Fisher, C. Hull, S. Stephens (2) all produced doubles, and C. Pentecost added a home run!  The winning pitcher was Wyatt Saltarelli (6.0 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 6 K).

The Bobcats  followed up their big weekend playing Missouri Southern in Joplin on Tuesday.  The Cats pitched well but struggled at the plate, losing 5-0.  J.D. Payne went 1-for-2, posting the Bobcats lone hit. 

The Bobcats have rescheduled their games for this weekend due to weather/field consitions. Games will bel held at Forsyth High School's field on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 2 PM.
