The Bobcats took the field against York College on Friday afternoon with high hopes; however, they dropped the first 2 games of the 4-game series with losses of 6-5 and 5-2. Game 1 found the Bobcats outhitting York 14-7 and turning 3 double plays. The ‘Cats took a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the 8th but gave up 3 runs in the 8th and 2 runs in the 9th for a 6-5 loss. Josh Neufeld again had a strong performance on the mound, pitching 7.2 innings with 6 K’s. Leading the Bobcats at the plate were Cody Pentecost (3-5, double), Silas Bohannan (3-4, HR, 2 RBI), and Timmy Townsend (2-3, 2 RBI). Game 2 began with York scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the first, and despite nine Bobcat hits, the ‘Cats were only able to score 2 runs in the 6th inning. Landon Jarrett pitched 6 innings, giving up only 1 earned run, and striking out 4. Trevor Bowling led the Bobcats, (3-4, run scored) and closed the day with his batting average at .353. The Bobcats’ record now stands at 22-23 overall, 9-13 in MCAC play.
