College of the Ozarks head baseball coach Neale Richardson is pleased to announcing the signing of two players for the 2016-2017 season.
Jansen McQuerter is a right handed pitcher and outfielder from Republic High School in Republic, Missouri. Last spring, he finished with a record of 6-4 with 3 saves while helping the Tigers to a 13-10 record. McQuerter threw 56.2 innings as a junior, and ended the season with a 1.97 ERA, while striking out 40 hitters and only giving up 16 earned runs on 43 hits. Jansen earned 2nd Team All-Conference (Central Ozarks Conference) and 2nd Team All-District (Class 5, District 12) honors as a junior. He will be competing in his senior season this year before bringing his talents to College of the Ozarks.
Tanner Wallace has lettered in all three years of baseball at Ozark High School in Ozark, Missouri. Wallace has played 1st base and pitcher for the Tigers, while hitting in the middle of the lineup. He helped Ozark to an undefeated Central Ozarks Conference championship last season, as well as finishing 2nd in the district. Wallace hit .375 with a .542 slugging percentage last summer on Ozark’s varsity travel team, and he looks to have another successful season in his senior campaign.
The coaching staff is excited to welcome Jansen and Tanner, and they look forward to the contributions they will bring to the Bobcats.
