The Bobcat golf team has closed out their first collegiate tournament –the two-day Southwestern Christian University Invitational at Lake Hefner Golf Club in Oklahoma City.
Tuesday’s Round 2 of the event saw Caleb Davis once again lead the Bobcats, as he posted a score of 77 on the day. His total score of 154 placed him in a tie for 31st place out of 86 golfers in the tournament. Sam Watson scored an 84, Eric Powell shot 85, Braeden Sconce shot 2 strokes better than Tuesday with an 89, and Chandler Tidwell took 8 strokes off his prior game with an 86.
Highlights for the tournament, above and beyond the opportunity to play, featured Davis parring 25 of 36 holes and Sam Watson draining six birdies.
Kansas Wesley University took the team title for the tournament, with a total score of 577. Although College of the Ozarks team score (664) placed them 15th of 15, the team members did a great job of representing the College well and learned a lot from their first experience.
In two weeks, the Bobcats will head to Springfield to play in the Evangel University Invitational taking place September 18-19 at Rivercut Golf Course.
