Carmichael, Cody & Davidson
College of the Ozarks men’s basketball team members Ethan Davidson, Heath Carmichael, and Ben Cody were recently named as three of the thirty-eight student athletes to receive the 2018 NCCAA DI Men’s Basketball Scholar Athlete Award. In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a 4.00 scale and have achieved junior academic status.
In addition, Davidson and Carmichael were named as two of the 176 student athletes to receive the 2018 Daktronics NAIA DII Men’s Basketball Scholar Athlete Award. This national award requires a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and also includes achieving junior or senior academic status.
It is no small accomplishment to be named as an NCCAA and NAIA Scholar Athlete, particularly at College of the Ozarks. All three student athletes are juniors who excel at balancing the rigors of their studies with the multiple obligations of their sports (practice, travel, and game performance), while also performing to the best of their abilities in a 15-hour per week on-campus work assignment.
Congratulations, Ethan, Heath, and Ben!
