It was a rough day for College of the Ozarks baseball both at the plate and from the mound, as the Bobcats were shut out by Concordia University (Neb.) on Sunday afternoon by a score of 10-0.
The Concordia Bulldogs’ pitcher, Wade Council, picked up the win by pitching a complete game shutout, allowing just 3 hits, striking out three batters, and giving up no walks. Kole Kelley provided the Cats with two hits in his three at bats and Zac Bolstad went one-for-two at the plate.
The Bobcats’ pitchers, on the other hand, struggled from the mound, giving up a combined 9 earned runs on 10 hits, with 5 walks and 7 strikeouts. Bulldogs’ Keaton Candor, Christian Meza, Johnny May, and Brandon Cue produced two RBI apiece to lead their team to a big win. Jansen McQuerter took the loss for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats (17-11) will head out of town to play Baker University and Tabor College in Baldwin, Kan. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
