The Lady Bobcat golf team participated this week in the A.I.I. Conference Tournament held in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
The tournament was held at the newly renovated Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park. The women played the blue course, which plays at 6,000 yards, par 72. The course is described as a contradiction of sporty and subtle, aggravating and invigorating. Many greens were small and elevated, providing plenty of challenges.
Following two rounds of play, the Lady Cats closed out the tournament in fifth place of seven teams, with a score of 756. The University of British Columbia captured the championship title (615), followed closely by Victoria College, also from British Columbia (623).
Kate Voss improved by eight strokes to shoot an 84 on Tuesday, finishing in 20th place. Bekah Goodwin took 23rd, Ashley Stanphill tied for 24th, and Skylar Kistler finished 27th. Kaylee Theime withdrew in the second round.
The Lady Cats return home on Wednesday, just in time to attend the annual year-end Athletic Banquet.
