Bobcats Qualify as Fourth Seed for A.I.I. Conference Tournament

The Association of Independent Institutions has announced the matchups for the 2018 A.I.I. Men's Basketball Conference Tournament.

Stillman College (Ala.) and Voorhees College (S.C.) have earned first-round byes as the top two seeds for the 2018 Association of Independent Institutions Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament, taking place Feb. 23-25 at Lincoln Christian University in Lincoln, Ill. The league announced the tournament’s first-round pairings on Monday, Feb. 12.

The opening day, Feb. 23, will feature No. 3-seeded Fisk University (Tenn.) playing No. 6 seed Indiana University Northwest, with the winner advancing to face No. 2 seed Voorhees in one of the Feb. 24 semifinal games.

Meanwhile, the other first-round contest features No. 4-seeded College of the Ozarks (Mo.) playing No. 5 seed Northern New Mexico College. The winner will square off against top-seeded Stillman in the semifinal round.

The 2018 A.I.I. Men’s Basketball Tournament championship game is scheduled Feb. 25. Both teams will receive automatic bids to represent the league in the NAIA Division II national tournament.
