Kaufman & Reusch Named NCCAA All-Americans

College of the Ozarks Bobcats landed two baseball players on the National Christian College Athletic Association All-American lineup for 2018.

Jay Kaufman (Forsyth, Mo.) was named to the NCCAA All-American First Team, and Chad Reusch (Branson, Mo.) was named to the NCCAA All-American Third Team.

Kaufman, a junior transfer who plays third base and pitches for the Bobcats, posted a phenomenal season.  On the mound, he compiled a 9-3 record, featuring nine complete games, three of which were shutouts and one in which he pitched 11 innings.  Kaufman held the team-leading ERA for the season with a 2.34, striking out 65 batters, walking an average of only 1.03 per nine innings, and allowing the opposition a batting average of just .257.  In addition, Kaufman was a solid contributor at the plate and in the field.   He hit .351 with a .563 slugging percentage, which included 16 doubles, two triples, and four home runs.  Kaufman scored 23 runs and delivered 42 RBI.

Reusch, a sophomore outfielder for the Bobcats led his team in batting average and stolen bases.  He recorded a .411 batting average and .449 on-base percentage during the season.  Reusch produced 69 hits in his 168 at bats, including 11 doubles, three triples, and four homers.  He scored 44 runs and drove in 29.  On the base path, Reusch was an impressive 33-for-36 in stolen base attempts.

The Bobcats closed out their 2018 season with a 35-20 record, posting their third consecutive 30-win season.
