Congratulations go out to senior Bobcat pitcher Collan Thrasher, who was recognized this week by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as a 2019 Daktronics-NAIA Baseball Scholar Athlete.
To be nominated by an institution and receive this honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status.
It takes a great deal of hard work and determination to achieve this award amidst the day-to-day responsibilities of class attendance, homework, practice, travel, and game days. However, student-athletes at College of the Ozarks have the added responsibility of juggling their work station as well. All full-time students at C of O, including all student-athletes, are required to work at an on-campus job 15 hours per week in exchange for free tuition.
Great job, Collan!
