Curnes & Spears Recognized as NAIA & NCCAA Scholar Athletes

Curnes and SpearsLady Bobcat Volleyball continues to collect accolades for a job well done!  Most recently, Danielle Curnes and Alex Spears were named as 2017 Scholar Athletes by both the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA).

In order to be named as a Scholar Athlete, competing student-athletes must be a junior or senior and hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.4 (NCCAA) or 3.5 (NAIA) on a 4.0 scale. Achieving scholar athlete status at College of the Ozarks is especially difficult because all students are required to work 15 hours per week at their on-campus work station. Maintaining a high GPA while juggling classroom participation, homework, competitions, travel, and practices is quite a feat.

Danielle is a senior, who is majoring in nursing, and Alex is a junior accounting major.

Congratulations to these two players on an excellent season both on the court and in the classroom!
