The Bobcat and Lady Bobcat golf teams headed to Wichita, Kansas early this week to compete in the NCCAA Regional tournament at Auburn Hills Golf Club.
On Monday, the men played 36 holes and the women played 18. Both teams followed up with an 18-hole round on Tuesday.
The men were led in the two-day event by newcomer Jon Bell, who improved his play each day, posting scores of 82, 78, and 75. His 235 total on the par-72, 7,100+ yard course, earned him ninth place overall. Caleb Davis opened up Monday shooting 80 and 76. On Tuesday, he tallied a score of 81 to finish in a tie for 11th. As a team, the Bobcats finished in fifth place, eight strokes behind Central Christian College and York College, who tied for third. Full men’s results can be accessed here.
Kate Voss headed up the Lady Cats, finishing in 10th place. Voss shot 95 on Monday, but improved by six strokes on Tuesday to post an overall score of 184. Close behind was freshman Hannah Aherin, who shot 97/90 to place 11th. The team finished in fourth place. Full results of the women’s event can be accessed here.
Both teams will continue their fall season by heading to the Columbia, Mo. to compete in the College Cougar Classic next Monday and Tuesday.
