This week’s men’s golf tournament in Central Kansas found the Bobcats in less than favorable conditions. A significant change in temperature from Sunday, combined with wind and rain, made scoring difficult for many teams on Monday and resulted in the tournament coordinators canceling Tuesday’s final round early in the day.
The men’s teams played 36 holes on Monday, with some teams completing said holes on Tuesday morning due to darkness.
Chandler Tidwell led the Bobcats in this week’s action, scoring 84/93 to place him 63rd of 76 in individual competition. Tidwell ranked in the Top 20 in Par 3 scoring with an average of 3.38.
Following in his footsteps were Caleb Davis (88/92-T66), Sam Watson (86/95-T68), Eric Powell (89/92-T68), Braeden Sconce (90/93-T71), Kyle Keith (92/92-T73), and Isaac Franklin (93/94-T77). A specific highlight of the tournament for Sconce was posting an eagle during his round.
The team responded well in what Coach Larsen referred to as “horrible conditions” (spoken with regard to the weather—not the tournament host or course).
This was the final fall tournament for the men's golf team. They will return with some tournaments in the spring, so keep your eyes open for a spring schedule to be posted in the near future..
